Material Planner Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Material Planner located in York . Summary of Job duties : Supports the materials planning process by identifying and locating the specific replacement materials to meet the original equipment manufacturers requirements and interacts with vendors to arrange for on-site vendor support. Act as consultant for T&D; to identify alternatives for substation equipment. Provides point of contact for T&DT;&D; to address issues identified on service bulletins and service upgrades for substation equipment. Essential Functions of Position: A. Responsible for researching, analyzing, and specifying materials required to maintain substation equipment needs in the areas of Work Orders including Preventative Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance, Bill of Materials (BOMS) configuration, and obsolete materials. B. Responsible for identifying equipment for material master development where required to support planning and execution of substation work orders. C. Develop and maintain BOM in SAP for substation equipment. D. Liaison to T&D; vendors and suppliers resolving materials issues including costs, obsolescent, and availability concerns. E. Arranges for vendor on-site support of substation department needs. F. Responsible for supporting the needs of T&D; Engineering department in development of engineering design changes by working with the Design Engineers, Asset Management, and Project Managers to identify components needed to facilitate substation design upgrades. G. Responsible for observing schedule requirements and providing feedback to Planner/Schedulers, Project Managers, and Substation Supervisors, as needed, when material issues that will impact schedule implementation are identified. H. Responsible for reviewing/establishing Min/Max and economic order quantities to support T&D; required stocking levels and meet T&D; inventory goals. I. Responsible for ensuring material needs in support of Preventative Maintenance (PM) work tasks are met as required to support the PM program and the Asset Management department guidelines. J. Review existing equipment inventory for possible reduction from elimination of assets. K. Communicate well with internal and external customers and provide outstanding customer service. L. Provide to the District Substation Manager as requested.
Qualifications: Education and Training: o Associates degree in Electro-Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical Technology, or an associate degree or certificate of completion from an approved community college or correspondence school in a related field. Licenses and/or Certifications Required: o None Prior Related
Experience: o Minimum of 5 years utility experience or 5 years working with related procurement and/or with work management processes preferred. o Applicants, hired external to NPPD, will be placed into the T&D; Substation Technician Progression Program based on previous experience and education. It is required to complete the Apprentice and Substation Technician levels of the progression program within 30 months, or longer with Substation Manager approval. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
