Examples of Work:
The State of Nebraska, Department of Health and Human Services, Developmental Disabilities Division is looking for creative problem solvers to perform service coordination functions for individuals with developmental disabilities. The successful candidate is someone who can manage diverse relationships, is action oriented, communicates effectively and is organized. Duties of the position include: performing intake, securing assessments, identifying habilitative training needs, assisting in accessing due process procedure, monitoring and evaluating effectiveness/adequacy of services, coordinating the development of individual/family support plans and individual budgets, and ensuring medical, legal and financial service needs are met serving as liaison for individual/family and conduct on-site monitoring visits.
Hours: 8-5, Monday - Friday.
Qualifications / Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree and professional experience in: education, psychology, social work, sociology, human services, or a related field and experience in services or programs for person with intellectual or other developmental disabilities.
PREFERRED: Two years experience in services or programs for persons with intellectual or other developmental disabilities.
OTHER: Valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation. Applicants that are offered this position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use before final appointment to the position.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
