DuPont Pioneer has an exciting opportunity for Production Operators to join our company at our commercial corn production facility in York, NE. In this role, you will perform a variety of tasks associated with general plant operations, warehousing, and field activities that will evolve with each season throughout the year. You will be responsible for setting up and monitoring highly automated equipment for various processes such as harvest, conditioning, treating, packaging, warehousing, and shipping. Automation and computerized systems are utilized in our operations; computers and iPads are utilized.
During peak season (September-March) the York production plant runs a 24/6 or 24/7 schedule based on demand. Shift hours can be 8 to 12 hours depending on which schedule is utilized. Our operations stagger down to one shift during summer months. Six day weeks and extended hours are often required during our detassling season in July.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ Harvest activities such as preparation, husk sort oversight, drying, shelling etc.
+ Conditioning activities such as sizing, gravity operation, packaging, palletizing, etc.
+ Return and rework activities
+ Field management activities such as scouting, field maintenance
+ Warehousing activities including forklift operation, collecting samples, pooling, etc.
+ Gathering data for future aid in continuous improvement projects
+ Provides production support
+ May perform preventative maintenance and repairs
+ Various other duties as assigned by supervisor
The following are required:
+ High School diploma/GED
+ Experience with iPads, mobile devices, and computers
+ Microsoft Office Suite experience
+ Must possess a valid driver?s license and may be required to obtain a Commercial Driver?s License (CDL) in the future
+ Willing and able to work in a variety of areas (field, plant, warehouse)
+ Willing and able to climb and/or work in elevated areas; standing and sitting for extended periods
+ Willing and able to work both outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet and dry conditions
+ Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs. and complete work that involves repetitive motion and/or repetitive lifting with or without reasonable accommodation.
+ Willingness and ability to work overtime hours including weekend work required during seasonal peaks
The following are preferred:
+ Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, Continuous Improvement and Standardized Work are a plus
+ Forklift operation experience
+ Knowledge of field equipment desired
+ WMS and SAP system experience
+ Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills
+ Teamwork skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
